DESCRIPTION:http://www.nygia.org/ViewEvent.ashx?eventId=625413\n\nNew York Gang Investigators Association\n  Basic Gang Specialist Certification Course\n  Tuesday\, July 23\, 2013\n  Crowne Plaza Hotel - White Plains\, NY\n   \n  Course Outline:\n    The course will provide a basic history on the development of gangs in the \n     United States (local gangs\, prison gangs\, trends)        Indicators of gang activity (graffiti\, signs\, symbols\, hand signs\, etc.)\n   \n    How to identify gangs and gang members and properly document them.\n   \n    This course will also prepare individuals to testify in court.\n  \n\n    Intervention and Prevention techniques School Safety Concerns.\n     \n  Written Examination:\n    •- A 100-question written examination must be successfully completed with a minimum grade of 75% (75) attained\n  \n\n    •-   Students who do not achieve at least 75% on the exam will be allowed to review and re-take the exam one (1) time\n  \n\n    •-    If the student does not pass the re-take exam\, they will NOT receive a certificate or any other items associated with successfully completing\n the course\n  \n\n    •-      There is a one (1) hour time limit for exam.\n  ·        \n        Successful completion will add name to our database showing that they have passed the NYGIA Basic Gang Specialist Certification class. This information will be kept on record and a certified letter can be requested to be sent to any organization or court in New York.\n  \n\n  The class is limited to the first 100 people who register for the class and will be given on Tuesday\, July 23\, 2013\, at a fee of $150.00 (non-members). \n \n To qualify for the member rate of $125.00 you must be an NYGIA member prior to January 1\, 2013 and be in good standing.
